Ultraviolet radiation degrades free chlorine within hours during peak summer, not over days. Unless cyanuric acid is maintained in its proper range, Tuesday's treatment is depleted by Thursday and algae establishes itself over the weekend.

Valley water runs hard

Las Vegas tap water comes out at roughly 290 parts per million of calcium, already among the hardest in the country. Then it climbs fast: intense summer evaporation leaves the minerals behind, pushing a pool past 600 in a single season and beyond 800 within a year. At that level it scales tile, clouds plaster and shortens the life of salt cells and heaters.

Dust storms fill a pool overnight

A single valley dust storm can leave a fine layer of silt across the entire floor and shelf. We vacuum the basin thoroughly, brush the walls and steps, then clean the filter — rather than letting that sediment settle into the plaster and stain it.

Chapter 02 — the 21-point visit

Same day, same technician, same checklist.

  1. Skim, brush, vacuumSurface, waterline, steps and every wall — not just the parts you can see from the patio.
  2. Baskets and filter pressurePump and skimmer baskets emptied, filter pressure logged, cartridge cleaned on schedule.
  3. Full chemistry panelChlorine, pH and alkalinity are read on site — not guessed, and not a strip dipped at the pool superstore. Everything else runs on a spin-disk analyzer in our own lab: calcium hardness, cyanuric acid, phosphates, salt, copper and iron.
  4. Dose and balanceChemicals adjusted to your pool's actual volume, so the water is safe and sanitary before we leave.
  5. Equipment walk and photo reportPump, heater and automation checked, then a timestamped photo report lands on your phone.
